At 1,300 acres, River Rouge Park is Detroit's largest. Unfortunately, that simply means it's the biggest example of what terrible shape most city parks are in. Naturally, we'll need some close-ups of overturned trash cans. Channel 7 braves the overgrown baseball diamonds (described as "wheat fields") and pathways that "no longer lead anywhere" to see what's going. The park's crowning underachievement is currently the unused olympic-sized swimming pools. Originally built to host Olympic trials, various setbacks (stolen plumbing, a truck driving into one) have kept the pools closed for two years.
