The 2011 frenzy has come to a close! Between the round one Wayne County foreclosure auction in September and the round two auction that ended yesterday, Curbed Detroit has spent far too many hours trolling the wildly addictive whydontweownthis site, which offered live bidding updates and the complete list of sold stuff. And now for some number crunching! $500 was the least amount of money for scoring a home in round two. And while there were several brave bidders buying those in bulk, there were also plenty of people looking for the most minimal investment: just one property for the lowest price. When all was said and done, 169 bidders managed to snag a single $500 properties. (It's an even 170 bidders if you count the $501 property).
