As if going downtown did not already require a bag of quarters for the parking meters, next week the People Mover wants one more. The fare hike means a ride around the thirteen-stop loop is now $0.75 instead of $0.50. All signs point to future increases: the ride generated $900,000 in 2010 which only covers about 15 percent to 30 percent of operating costs. [CBS Detroit]
