What's this "placemaking" buzz word and more importantly, is it happening in Detroit? While admittedly, it's not our favorite buzz word (because what is the opposite? place-less-ness?) it means good things in terms of tight communities with cool shit you can walk to (as in two more buzz word: vibrant and walkable). The Michigan Municipal League just put out a new report looking at these issues on a local level which included this fun fact: Detroit saw a 59 percent increase in the number of college-educated residents under the age of 35 over the last ten years.
