The CEO of the Woodward Avenue Light Rail Transit Project is out! Mayor Dave Bing fired Norman White this week. White and the private investors—collectively known as M-1—have butted heads for months. It's no secret that White and Matt Cullen, CEO of the M-1 Rail group, had little love for each other, and that M-1 wanted the state to oversee the project. In September, Bing handed over control of the light-rail project to the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. and its president, George Jackson, who enjoys good relations with the investors. [Freep]
