Hugh Wins Funding, Will Open in the Auburn Next Fall

Last night, we learned that Curbed favorite to win the Hatch retail competition, Hugh, did in fact win $50,000 in start up capital to start a housewares shop in Detroit. Owner Joe Posch says that Hugh will be located in the still-under-construction Auburn building. With a building completion date in August, he says we can expect an early September opening for Hugh. While the Auburn's exterior renderings appear bland at best, we're betting Posch, master of the before-and-after design overhaul, can work his magic on an swanky, stylist interior. This shall be most convenient for new residents of the condos upstairs; well-played, Posch!
