There's a new play debuting in New York by Lisa D'Amour about the adjacent backyards of two recovering addicts and their anxious middle-class neighbors. She has entitled it Detroit. This work is a finalist for the 2011 Pulitzer Prize in drama and had a run last fall in Chicago. As it turns out, the play has white flight. The setting is described as a 'first ring' suburb outside a mid-sized American city. [NY Times]
