Free Press Real Estate Section: Rise In Detroit Home Prices Treated With Cheers Yesterday, Skepticism Today

Never mind what the Free Press Real Estate Section said yesterday about Detroit sailing through a second summer month of sizzling real estate sales. Today they called some naysaying experts to quash the positivity.

"I think it's bottomed out and definitely stabilized, but I think it will ride along the bottom for a while before we see any growth in housing values," said Brian Powers, a Realtor with Keller Williams in Chesterfield Township.
