If Detroit's plans for the Woodward Ave rail line still sound "iffy" to you, here's a sign that they might be less so. Or not. The Free Press reports that Mayor Bing may hand over control of the Light Rail project to the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation. And he may present this to City Council next week. But his office will not comment. But if it all works out, this should "should speed the process by cutting through political bickering between Bing and the City Council over management and help smooth over the bumpy relations with M-1 Rail -- a group of wealthy private investors who have quietly expressed displeasure with the Bing administration's management of the project so far."
