A First Look at Park(ing) Day in Detroit

This is the scene on Woodward Ave just north of Campus Martius, right now! Park(ing) Day (that would be today) is an annual event in which citizens install temporary mini-public parks in the space of a metered parking spot. This year, local architecture groupies led by rogueHAA picked an "Urban Beach" theme for the installation. Chilly day for it! If anyone is brave enough to go bikini out there, Curbed Detroit is expecting reader-submitted photos. (And thanks to Melissa for her quick iPhone work on these!)
