Ham Town's largest commercial building, Shopper's World, has sat around unused for the last eight years. Enough already. There are two floors and a basement for a total of 60,000 square feet and the city of Hamtramck is now shopping for something to do with it. They started looking for proposals on September 9th (Curbed obtained a copy of the RFP for perusal). Director of Community and Economic Development for Hamtramck, Jason Friedmann, says that locals have asked for a pet shop, an office supply store, a book store and a membership gym.
