Remember when Mayor Bing announced The Detroit Works Project in September 2010, and how worked up everyone got about neighborhood redevelopment? And then remember how nothing really changed for a year? Well a bunch of city inspectors are signaling the dawn of a new era by handing out violations to homeowners. Offenses include peeling house paint, missing downspouts, debris-laden driveways and minor fire damage. Gotta start somewhere. [The Detroit News]
