We Went House Hunting in Highland Park For a Change

Here now, From Curbed Marketplace, highlighting an intriguing real estate listing from the many thousands of properties found in the Curbed Marketplace. Browsing the Marketplace and spot a property worthy of being featured? Send it to the tipline.

With all the attention put on its streetlight problem, Highland Park might not be feeling that great about itself right now. It's neighbor, the other independent city surrounded by Detroit—Hamtramck—seems to steal all the doughnut-hole city attention. So we decided to cheer it up by going hunting for a pretty listing to highlight that some of the housing stock is still rather appealing. Lo and behold: a cute home for under $60 K! This listing says "COMPLETELY REMOLDED" so that is good, right? Well it looked good on the outside. Could no one have been bothered to clean up a bit before they took the interior photos? The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is being sold for $59,900 but put itself on par with most of those we see in the $10 K range. Highland Park, we want to like you! Put your best foot forward! And to all the hoods, please don't ever make us confront the design tragedy that is the 80s style glass furniture again!
