Brick Fixer-Upper on the Edge of the City For Super Cheap

Here now, From Curbed Marketplace, highlighting an intriguing real estate listing from the many thousands of properties found in the Curbed Marketplace.

For the Detroit city dweller that wants to be on the cusp of what the 'burbs has to offer, Regent Park is not a bad bet. If Target is your place, nearby Harper Woods has your covered while Grosse Pointe Woods, just a bit further, is doing its fancy thing. Most importantly, staying on the Detroit side keeps it cheap! Behold a $7,000 HUD home that could use a little love. It's got hard wood floors, a classy fireplace, three bedrooms and 1,284 square feet. Also an agent who is looking out for you. The listing says repairs are needed that will cost you more than $5,000 and that they may include electrical work, the roof, plumbing, and doing something about that "MOLD-LIKE SUBSTNCE" [sic]. Ok so that's a lot. But if you still get it up and running for $13 K, we still smell a deal. Zillow seems to think most of the block's homes are in the $20-30 K range, so get that flipping mold out and give it a go.
