According to DetroitYES!, the last of the old school, real Greektown Greek restaurants closed on Sunday. The Laikon Cafe is gone and we're blaming a casino; word is the building owner sold the place to the Greektown Casino so that they could tear it down to create another parking lot. Of course to a DYESSER, this is a sign the end is nigh, "First Laikon and next all of Greektown. The mayor, council, city planners and the zoning commission are incompetent. There are laws that are probably set in place to go against razing of historical buildings and communities." [DetroitYES!]
