In town for the Detroit Auto Show this week, A NY Times reporter ventures away from Cobo Center and discovers other parts of Detroit without going to straight to Slows. (Gasp!) Mentioned in the article: Cass Cafe, Detroit Soup, Ferndale's Paperstreet, and City Bird. But don't get too excited yet; this seems not to be the most glowing review. They write, "Yet for all these green shoots of urban bohemia, Detroit is still more lunch bucket than Freitag tote." We are not sure what that means, but they just compared a farm house item to a bag sold for $600 in SoHo so we are sure it was snotty. [NY Times]
