Walls! Detroit's Upcoming Whole Foods Has Them!

New, 20 comments

Since Whole Foods broke ground in May, development on the midtown lot that will become Detroit's only major chain grocery store (until the Meijer is done shortly after) has been underwhelming. They built a parking lot and pushed some dirt around. Snooze. But yesterday we grabbed our first photos of the walls that will become the store. Now we're talking! The store plans to open in the spring of 2013. Some say Whole Foods is too swank for Detroit. Others say, "please, dear Grocery store, help raise my property values." Gentrification? Progress? Pass the organic Cheddar Bunnies.
