As it turns out, Popular Mechanics can take Detroiters to the future, that being the year 2025. In that year, puff piece journalism is running rampant and Dan Gilbert is credited for revitalizing downtown by taking advantage of the great "skyscraper sale" of 2011-2012. There's actually a whole slew of articles about what is going on in the futuristic city ("the poster child of the Great Recession which became a model of urban life") but as it appears that the future killed snark, we are now looking for a time machine. If you do get stuck in 2025, we would suggest booking a room in the W Hotel that opened in Michigan Grand Central.
