Last week, Forbes released its annual list of the 10 most dangerous U.S. cities. Detroit, consistent wonder that it is, took the same position it has had for four years running. Number one!
Well, there is some slightly good news, "the rate of violent crimes – murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault – fell 10% last year to 2,137 per 100,000 residents." Kinda... "That's still more than five times the national average."
Since the Tigers baseball team is the most effective tool we currently have for changing perceptions of the city, maybe we can have them beat gang members with bats in the off-season? No? Other ideas?
