Detroit's Thanksgiving Day Parade is 86 years old, a fact that drives most local media outlets absolutely bananas. Even so, that's nowhere near as old as the mansions that can be found on Woodward Avenue, most of which date back to the days when Woodward was made of wooden planks. Sadly, most of the mansions are gone now, but the home of David Whitney remains. Built in 1894, The Whitney is still around to stare at or dine in. [Freep]
