Kahn Conservatory

When it comes interesting things to see in Detroit, the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle is too often overlooked. Designed by Albert Kahn in 1904, it is the oldest conservatory in the country and features a dome that is 85 feet high. Containing plants from all parts of the world, the conservatory will be decorated with Poinsettias and Christmas lights beginning tomorrow. Hours are 10am to 5pm, Wednesday-Sunday, and admission is completely free. [City of Detroit]
