We've known that the Milner Hotel would be converted to apartments ever since workers spilled the beans last September, but Crain's now has some new details straight from the horse's mouth/building owner Matt Lester. The new development will consist of 50 "high-end, luxury" units in a range of sizes (Studios, 1,2, and 3-bedrooms, as well as penthouses). After the switch, the building will be rebranded as "The Ashley," which is quite a feminine turn after spending most of its existence named after founder Earle Milner. The conversion to apartments doesn't look like too much of a stretch - many units had kitchens already installed. Anticipated opening is next fall.
