Is Automotive Mogul Gregory Jackson The New Owner Of The Lafayette Towers?

New, 2 comments

While we wait for a press release or some sort of comment, we've done a little sleuthing for you. Although thus far unconfirmed by Lafayette Ventures LLC or the City of Detroit, meet the man who appears to be the lucky new owner of the Lafayette Towers: Gregory Jackson. According to the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Jackson appears to be the man behind Lafayette Ventures LLC, the company that purchased the towers.

So just who is this Jackson character?
He's the CEO of Prestige Automotive Group, which controls three Michigan auto dealerships and saw $410M in revenues last year. Prestige Automotive was listed as the nation's 11th largest black-owned auto dealer by Black Enterprise, in a profile that just happened to publish on Wednesday. In fact, Jackson is offhandedly referred to as a billionaire on several different websites. Wow! It looks like yesterday's promise of building improvements might actually have some major financial backing to them. That's great news — last we checked, the Lafayette Towers were in pretty rough shape.

We'll provide further updates as info becomes available.
