This Craftsman Home Is Chill, Arty, But Not Trying Too Hard

Here now, From Curbed Marketplace, highlighting an intriguing real estate listing from the many thousands of properties found in the Curbed Marketplace

This Ferndale home says "I see you trendy, arty people and I want you to live in a classic American home." Ok, what the listing really says is, "Vintage craftsman colonial goes hipster chic in Northwest Ferndale." Do note the apple computer product placement, no doubt a ploy to appeal to some ad agency graphic designer. And while the three bedroom listed for $199,900 does not seem ironic and vintagey enough to be all that hipster, we rather like it just the way it is. The place has hardwood floors, a brick fireplace, built-ins, leaded glass, and an open banister staircase. There are little extras like the breakfast nook, a sweet patio, and a two-car garage. So listen, suburban house. You don't have to be hip. Just be your sweet craftsman self and avoid emulating people with asymmetrical haircuts.
