Here now, From Curbed Marketplace, highlighting an intriguing real estate listing from the many thousands of properties found in the Curbed Marketplace
It's always funny to us when one of the Lafayette Park coops designed by famed modernist architect Mies Van Der Rohe gets listed and they make no mention of the famous designer's name in the listing. Such is the case for one that came on the market for $89,900. It's actually been popping on and off the market at that same price since October, so it would seem offers were placed but have not worked out yet. Why should you be the one to buy? As far as these homes go, most owners tend to hold onto them long term, which generally means you are going to want to update it; the kitchen and bathroom photos make this pretty clear. But for a chic, family-oriented neighborhood vibe (residents are known to have a mommy knitting group, lots of dogs, and well-costumed photogenic kids) in a beautiful green space (where the landscaping is taken care of for you) it cannot be beat. And for inspiration in your renovation, you can always reference Toby Barlow's unit, featured in Dwell Magazine.
