I'm glad to see positive news and opinions about Detroit; I love it. But it's a little annoying when people are talking about us like we are from some far flung tribe in Australia or the long lost city of Atlantis. "There is so much warmth from its people even when it’s so cold that steam rises from every manhole cover in the streets downtown, where the pre-Depression era skyscrapers are perhaps misinterpreted as looming gloom rather than quiet strength." Last time I checked Detroit was America. Thanks for enthusiasm but enough with the romanticizing of the "hope of its people". It's Detroit not Kabul. -James Courtney [NY Daily News: Think of The Motor City For Your Next Vacation]
