The owner of AJ's Café in Ferndale is running for Congress and closing his cafe but says the two events are not related. His five-year lease ends at the end of March and he says "I had to look at my options. It's too expensive to run a café in downtown Ferndale. I've been working 70 hours a week for five years with little pay." Apparently records in the Guinness Book don't help you turn a profit. Last March and April, musicians performed around the clock for 362 hours making the cafe the site of the longest continuous concert. [Daily Tribune]
