Vacant storefronts make us feel so sad and empty! Thank goodness the Woodward Windows project is turning them into something to gaze upon. Since it began in May, WW has occupied 12 storefronts (legally!) in an effort to convert the first two blocks of Detroit's main drag south of Grand Circus Park into an attention-grabbing art walk. "If the 'Live Downtown' initiative is going to attract all these young professionals," said Windows organizer Mike Han, referring to the plan to boost downtown's population, "Woodward Windows will be part of what keeps them here."
