Detroit's D-Day

Today is D-Day for "tough nerd" Governor Rick Snyder's 10-member financial review team to submit a plan to fix Detroit's state of "extreme financial emergency" before the city totally runs out of cash in May. Snyder wants to put a state-controlled appointed financial advisory board in charge of the city's finances, while city leaders whine "What about us?," demanding Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and City Council have more say. (Because they've done such a bang-up job so far.) The review team meets at 3 p.m. today. Maybe the Nain Rouge will be the new emergency manager? [Detroit News]
