Has common sense prevailed in Detroit? (Is that a first?) The City of Detroit has withdrawn (for now!) the petition for two gigantic flashing Billboards at the entry to Belle Isle. Daryl Lundy, director of the City of Detroit's office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, released a statement late Thursday saying city officials were "having further discussion about the possibility of signage at Belle Isle." Well we can't quite claim credit for quashing this yet, but we think we may have something to do with this line from the same article. "The proposal also drew negative comments on Facebook." [Freep]
