Thanks to GM, a buncha creatives have to leave cities with public transit (San Francisco and NYC) to come help Detroit shill cars. The Auto Giant picked a company called Commonwealth to create advertising for Chevrolet. One of the creative directors explains that these folks he is recruiting are drawn to the “pioneer spirit” and plan to live downtown. “I call it the wild, wild Midwest,” he said. “It’s a very gut-feeling city. You either get it or you don’t. I actually like the industrial-ness of it. Visually I kind of dig it. I like a city that can make (things). You can use your hands. We're pretty sure the gut feelings come from eating too many Coney Dogs and that that is a bad thing. [Freep]
