People be Trippin

Apparently Dan Gilbert's downtown real estate is the cause of some bruised shins. The Detroit News writes, "Retailers 'tripping over themselves' to get in Gilbert-owned buildings." Geez. Are they all high-heel stores? That would make sense. Those are hard to walk in. Gilbert's real estate company, Bedrock, says they've gotten hundreds of proposals. Managing Partner Jim Ketai explained, "We want the right retailer, the right spot. The kind of retailer we can't get in the suburbs." Given the neon colors that Gilbert's real estate favors, we suggest a sunglasses store. [The Detroit News]
