Detroit Documentary Craze

The Detroit documentary film craze got some attention in the New York Times over the weekend. The paper describes the body of work as mixed. The documentation of this decay, however, can be as problematic as it is spectacular, veering into empty cliché and, to some, voyeurism and exploitation. However, the paper still seems pretty jazzed for Detropia which will open in NYC in September. From what we've heard locally, it is "The Road" meets "Roger and Me." [The New York Times]
