OK, first of all, I absolutely applaud anybody who opens a business in this city. But... i find this video super condescending. The idea of coming in here and saving the unloved children with coffee and Jesus is offensive, at best. This isn't about poking fun at the dreamers and optimists. This is about delusion. This city has real needs. One of these people will be teaching in our public schools. That's great. But even she seems to view Detroit residents as savages "who have never experienced love." And what exactly are the other four doing? A 10-foot statue of the Last Supper? For what? In this town, you'll accomplish more with a good pulled-pork sandwich. -Aaron Keast, Comment #140 [Kids Moving To Detroit To Found Art-Epicenter In Slum Community: A Coffee Shop]
