Second Fiddle Grocery Groundbreaking

New, 11 comments

A grocery store is breaking ground in the city of Detroit! Where are all the cameras and Senator Stabenow and the special hard hats and shovels? Oh it is just the Meijer Supercenter? The one that is about three days behind the hoopla that was the Whole Foods media circus groundbreaking? And it is at the southeast corner of 8 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue? Yeah no one cares. Except for Mayor Dave Bing and Governor Rick Snyder who will be there at noon for the non-event that will eventually give Detroit a 350,000 square foot shopping center with a Marshalls department store and a K&G Fashion superstore.
