The Chalmers Square redevelopment underway will give the far east side of Detroit (near the Grosse hoods) 47 residential units and 17,000 square feet of retail space. The Detroit-based Shelborne Development worked with Detroit-based architects at Christian and Associates (led by Christopher W. Christian) on the plans, which seem to have made some serious progress recently. The "after" photo above was tweeted to us yesterday to show that the building at 11436 E. Jefferson is just about done! Two other buildings are part of the $7 M project according to an article on Model D from last year (anyone out east have more status updates?)
