Kinda sounds like Cass Tech Part 2, no? The Art Deco building that was Detroit's Mumford High School is getting demolished this spring and will be gone by June; they will build a new school building on the same block. Like Cass Tech, this one has some famous alumni, such as TV producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who featured the school's name in "Beverly Hills Cop." Cass Tech's demo was lamented by graduate and musician Jack White when the building was torn down in the summer of 2011. [MLive]
