Kefallinos is a bit of a double-edged sword for Detroit. Yes, he owns blighted properties and has, at times, employed what some have called questionable development/management techniques. At the same time, he has kept a lot of buildings off the demolition list and turned them into lofts and cheap space for small businesses. The Russell Industrial Center, Lafayette Lofts and the Kresge Building downtown are just a few examples. He's a developer lots of people love to hate and hate to love, and he often receives both emotions. The thing to remember about doing business with him is you get what you pay for. -Jon Zemke [Demo Dollars at Work]
