It was an insane Sunday at the Packard Plant yesterday. The image above is the fine work of the Detroiturbex photographer , who captured a likely never-to-be-repeated stunt. Someone hung a Winnebago off the fifth floor of the Packard Plant, Detroit's likely to be demolished (we think...if someone can pay for it) abandoned auto plant. Want to rush out to see the Packardbago for yourself? Too late. The Packard was on fire last night. Packardbago hung from building 21 for too brief a time. Au revoir! We knew you not, but would not have stood anywhere near your shadow.
As for the crispy remains of the Packard Plant, they are likely to be around for a while. The estimated cost to demolish it is $20 million. So despite owner Dominic Cristini's claims he is ready to take it down, it stands tempting suicidal RVs to explore its edges.
