Dazzled That People Are Dazzled with Detroit Real Estate Porn

New, 3 comments

To Curbed readers, the news that Detroit has legit real estate porn is, well... yawn. But now that a publication called the The Week, (which apparently has 525,000 subscribers and is based out of New York), has found seven Detroit properties between $49,900 and $750,000 and made a photo splash out of it... well it is kind of a bigger deal. At least according to The Detroit News opinion writer that wrote an article over his delight in The Week article. We've never heard of The Week before and they have the original locked down and only available to subscribers, so we're just relying on the Detroit News to read it for us. The News opinion piece proclaims, "Posh, undervalued city homes on the market dazzle New York magazine editor." However we think what is really dazzling is the News article's reaction to such an obscure publication. We are pretty sure most New Yorkers don't read this glossy (The Week was described as slender and sterling news digest with a global perspective and a down-the-middle approach) but if it gives these Detroit homes a boost to see themselves in this light, well we hope they enjoy it. Here's the listing for the one featured at the bottom right, in case all this dazzling has you ready to plunk down in Brush Park.
