A brick clock tower in Royal Oak built by a car dealer could face demolition because the owner failed to pay a $150 annual fee. But now a Troy-based chain of dealerships wants to buy it from a bank that assumed ownership last year. "When the 44-foot-tall clock tower was built in 1999, it was hailed by city leaders along Woodward for replacing a chronic trouble spot — a massage parlor called the Japanese Sauna that was a notorious front for prostitution, said James Marcinkowski, the former Royal Oak deputy city attorney."
