Across The Ambassador Bridge

Like loud noises, DIY urbanism needs no passport. The Atlantic Cities reports that over in Windsor, an artist collective called the Broken City Lab is setting up shop in a downtown storefront. Because Windsor is apparently the Detroit of Canada (10% unemployment! The horror!) the collective tries to make people re-engage with an unloved city through interventions like magnetic planters to attach to unfriendly fences and programs like speed-dating for members of the business community. We can't imagine that that second one would end all that well, but hey, if you're getting international coverage you must be doing something right. [The Atlantic Cities]
