We were a little surprised to see that this fire-burned house in Rochester Hills sold at all until a new post about celebrity childhood homes came out yesterday. Turns out Madonna grew up in this two-story brick Colonial with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Her dad and stepmom moved out in July 2001, selling the home for $270,000. Unfortunately, the house was a victim of arson in 2008 and with a listing that said "This property has extensive fire damage and is deemed unsafe to enter," we thought it was dunzo. Well not so! At the time of the sale it was owned by the bank and listed for $70,200 but closed at $91,700 last January according to MLS data. What now? Renovated into a Madonna museum? Or is it possible the buyer was not aware of the celebrity association of what he/she bought? (It did not seem to be included in listing data). If you are out in the Hills, keep an eye on this one for us.
