Greektown is Now Everytown, Anytown

New, 1 comment

Farewell Greektown Detroit, we knew you not. Whether you blame the Casino, suburban migration, or young folks of this generations' disinterest in their parents businesses, this hood officially has only three real Greek restaurants left but plenty of bland Americana. That meaning a Five Guys, a Cold Stone Creamery, and a Red Smoke Barbeque. And let's not forget the Buffalo Wild Wings on the way. “It’s no longer Greektown,” says Nafez Jadallah , owner of the Greektown Grocery store and former owner of the Laikon, a first-rate Greek restaurant that was forced to close this year after the casino bought the building from his landlord for additional parking.
