Bike Lanes Were Born Last Week & Now Third Goes Two Ways

New, 5 comments

Certain lanes of the Motor City got a lot less motor-y recently. Bike lanes have been added from Warren to Temple, on Temple, and Second Avenue between Temple and Ledyard. It is all part of the The Midtown Loop project, an effort to create a 1.8-mile walkable loop that connects Wayne State University, the Detroit Medical Center, and cultural institutions in Midtown and New Center. Areas that were four lanes now have three lanes and two bike paths but most importantly, Third Street is now a two-way street instead of a one-way in Midtown which will be a big deal for The Bottom Line when it opens.
