The Detroit news is running an Associated Press article right now about how kids these dates hate the suburbs. But the rest of American gets a lot more credit for this trend than our area, where the best thing they could say about our population trend is that our 25 percent decline (in Detroit residents) over the past decade has bottomed out. The splashy "cities are better" quote goes to a Colorado 28-year-old who bikes to work. She told the A.P., "I will never live in the suburbs. I just like being connected to everything down here — concerts, work, restaurants, all of it. This is where everything's at." [The Detroit News]
