Snobs on the Bus

New, 3 comments

Today the Atlantic Cities blog looks at bus ridership in Los Angeles, but many of the findings will be relevant to Detroit-area public-transit-avoiders. The racial and class bias attached to city buses has little to do with the vehicle itself and everything to do with the riders on it. "Bus ridership declines with rising income, the use of streetcars, subways, and commuter railroads tends to increase with higher income." [The Atlantic Cities]
