Since March, a Detroit man has surveyed 13,468 trees by walking up and down the streets counting them. He is basically the human version of the Google street view car, or what one calls an ecological surveyor. For every tree he counts, he marks where the tree is, then he adds details like its size, species, and health. No word in if there is hugging. [Deadline Detroit via Michigan Public Radio]
