Indian Village's Scripps-Ellis Mansion Sold for $198 K

New, 6 comments

The bank-owned Scripps Mansion we first told you about in May just sold on August 10 for $198,000, just a bit above the $195,500 ask. (And no, neither the listing agent nor the selling agent was our friend Nick!) The 1916 home was built by the wealthy Scripps family that gave us The Detroit News and helped found the Detroit Institute of Arts. It is a six-bedroom with three fireplaces, a carriage house, and a library. It needs some work, but the historical details are really stunning.
