According to the Wall Street Journal, more than just Rust Belt cities are taking cues from Detroit. Apparently, for broke arts institutions nationwide, the DIA's funding strategy -- the recently-enacted millage and free admission for Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb residents -- looks like a work of art on par with the museum's Rivera murals. Dear WSJ: Thanks for the positive press, but you still have to pay full price for admission. [Wall Street Journal]
